Sci-fi City, which began as Enterprise 1701, was founded in 1976 in Longwood, FL. The original name was derived from the name and number of the original starship on Star Trek. We started as a small five hundred (500) square foot store. We have moved three times since the original location and were at our last site for fifteen years. Enterprise 1701 has been an important part of the Science Fiction, Gaming, Anime and Comic Industry in Central Florida for many years. We are well known and respected industry wide. In June of 1998 we moved to our current site changing both our name and corporate status - we are now Sci-Fi City with more than 10,000 square feet.

We have hosted many local and national artists, writers, game designers, television and movie actors, like Ethan Van Sciver (Penciler for Green Lantern: Rebirth), Tim Townsend (Inker for X-Men: Age of Apocalypse), James O'Barr (creator of The Crow), David Prowse (Darth Vader), Kenny Baker (R2-D2), Tim Bradstreet (artist for various books and games), Real Musgrave (creator of Pocket Dragons), Terry Brooks (The Shannara novel series and the new Star Wars: Episode I novel) and Michael Stackpole (many Star Wars novels).
